TV1 - Always Great Rebrand
For 18 years, TV1 had promised ‘Television’s Greatest Hits’ – it had been known as the ‘retro’ channel. TV1 evolved into a contemporary library programming channel and needed the trade audience to understand this and disrupt their existing perception.
A series of print ads used clean imagery and clear messaging. Individually the elements promoted the ‘Great Comedy’ or ‘Great Drama’ sales positioning to explain the new supporting ‘Always Great’ tagline. Together, these elements combined to portray a TV1 that was fresh and no longer retro – a sentiment that was reflected in anecdotal feedback to the TV ad sales agency.
